Minutes of a Regular Meeting of the =

Town Council of the Town of= Ellicott

held at = the Administration Building,

215 S. Work Street, Falconer, N.Y. on

February= 2, 2009 at 7:00 P.M.

 

Present: Supervisor Miller, Councilman Orlando= , Councilman Beckerink, Councilman Lodestro, Councilman Heintzelman, Town Clerk Erlandso= n, Highway Superintendent Shellhouse.

 

Supervisor Miller open= ed the meeting at 7:00 PM and led the Town Council in the Pledge of Allegiance.    Town Clerk Erlandson called t= he roll. 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

MOTION by Councilman Lodestro, seconded by Councilman Beckerink to accept the minu= tes of the January 19, 2009 meeting as presented by the Town Clerk.<= /span>

CORRESPONDENCE

 

        &= nbsp;   Town Clerk Erlandson read the following items into the record:=

1.      Liquor license renewal: Falconer Moose, 11 S. Dow = St.

2.      Newsletter: Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy.<= o:p>

3.      “State of the City” report from City of Jamestown Mayor, Sam Teresi.

TOWN OFFICERS’ REPORTS

 

Councilman Lodestro suggested that town officials look into certain special district char= ges within the Town of Ellicott.  In his opinion, some of charges ne= ed to be re-evaluated.

 

Councilman Beckerink asked that wind power be added to the agenda of the comprehensive plan process that is currently underway.

 

Mr. Beckerink also asked Highway Superintendent Shellhouse about the status of a new heating system for the water tower at the Airport Industrial = Park.  Mr. Shellhouse stated that he is l= ooking into the matter.

 

Town Clerk Erlandson reported that he w= ould be collecting property taxes at the Celoron Village Hall on Saturday, Feb. = 7, 2009 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

 

Highway Superintendent Shellhouse reported that the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities has b= egun installing electrical service at the new water pump station in West Ellicott.

 

Super= visor Miller reported that a meeting with a mediator from the Public Employee Relations Board (PERB)= has been scheduled for March 26, 2009 re the “impasse” in negotiati= ons with Town of Ellicott CSEA Highway/Office employees pertaining to a new labor agreement.

 

Mr. M= iller stated that the Town Council will conduct its March 16, 2009 at the Fluvanna Library.

&= nbsp;

Mr. = Miller also reminded the Town Council that each year it= is required to review the financial records of the Town Supervisor, Town Clerk= and Town Court.  He stated that the records are ava= ilable for review anytime.  He added = that the financial records will also be available for review on March 2, 2009 prior = to the regular Town Council meeting.

&= nbsp;

Mr. M= iller reported that he, Councilman Orlando & Highway Superintendent Shellhouse met recently with Village of Celoron= officials to discuss “shared service” possibilities.

 

   &nbs= p;            Councilman Heintzelman entered the meeting at 7:= 09 PM.

The Regular Town Council meeting scheduled for Feb. 16, 2009 was cancelled in observance of = President’s Day.

Motion by Supervisor Miller, seconded by Councilman Heintzelman to pay Abstract #3 in the amount of $38,605.22 and charge to the proper funds or accounts.
