Minutes of a Regular Meeting of the
Town Council of the Town of
held at the
June 2, 2008
at 7:00 P.M.
Present: Supervisor Miller, Councilman Beckerink, Councilman Lodestro, Councilman Heintzelman, Town Clerk Erlandson, Highway Superintendent Shellhouse, Attorney Wright, Justice Gerace, Legislator Barmore. Absent: Councilman Orlando.
Supervisor Miller opened the
meeting at 7:00 PM and led the Town Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. Town Clerk Erlandson called the roll.
MOTION
by Councilman Heintzelman, seconded by Councilman Lodestro to accept the
minutes of the May 19, 2008 meeting as presented by the Town Clerk.
Town Clerk Erlandson read the
following items into the record:

be held at the new Fluvanna Fire Dept. facility on
TOWN OFFICERS’ REPORTS
Councilman Lodestro reported on the status of upgrades to the entrance on the north side of the Town of Ellicott Administration Building. He stated that Tanglewood Manor has agreed to donate automatic door openers for the new entrance. He added that new signage for the entrance has also been ordered.
Mr. Lodestro also reported that he and Councilman Beckerink are looking into possible waterway improvement projects that might be eligible for funding from Chautauqua Co.
Town Clerk Erlandson reported that the Town of
Mr. Erlandson also reported that the new Town of Ellicott website has been
completed. He encouraged the Town Council
to look at the new website and make suggestions for improving it. The website can be located at: www.townofellicott.com.
Highway Superintendent Shellhouse reminded the Town Council that a Rib Cook-off & Music Festival will take place in Celoron on June 6-8, 2008.
Supervisor
Miller reported that the Town Council has received a letter from the CSEA
requesting that the Town of
Bids for Street Sweeper – Tabled until the June 16, 2008 meeting.
Dog Control Ordinance – Councilman Lodestro reported that a committee
consisting of several Town officials recently reviewed a proposed dog control
ordinance. (Minutes 5/19/08) He stated that the committee has recommended
several revisions to the proposed ordinance.
Councilman Lodestro & Justice Gerace explained the revisions. The revisions mostly involve penalties for
violations of the ordinance. Attorney
Wright will make the necessary revisions.
The revised ordinance will also include an increase of the current dog
licensing fee. The Council discussed the
proposed dog ordinance and decided to conduct a Public Hearing re the
matter.
MOTION by Councilman Lodestro, seconded by
Councilman Heintzelman to schedule a Public Hearing for Monday, June 16,
2008 at 7:00 PM regarding an introductory Town of
NEW
BUSINESS - No New Business
Payment of Claims
MOTION by Supervisor Miller, seconded by Councilman Heintzelman to pay 2008
current claims #534-571, inclusive, in the amount of $44,070.02 and charge
to the proper fund or account.

MOTION by Supervisor Miller, seconded by Councilman Heintzelman
to adjourn at 7:55 PM.
